Our Mission

The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Outreach Program supports children who are deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind by providing a broad array of services to families and educational programs. Services are provided at no cost and are based on the needs of each individual child.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Outreach Update

As of July 1, 2017, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Outreach will focus on new and improved programs to support Wisconsin’s school aged deaf and hard of hearing children, their families and their service providers. These new and improved programs will result from the input of stakeholders at the Outreach Summit '17: Outreach 2.0 to be held on June 16-17, 2017 and will align with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Chapter 115, Wisconsin Statutes, that provide responsibility, authority and funding to WESP-DHH to serve deaf and hard of hearing children ages 3 - 21.

While existing WESP-DHH programs serving children ages 0-3 will be ending as of July 1, 2017, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Outreach staff will continue to provide materials, resources, and trainings in collaboration with parents, school districts, Birth to 3 programs, and other service providers, hearing loss-related entities, organizations and agencies.
